Pinot’s Palette Offering Project Pet Classes for National Pet Month

Just in time for National Pet Month in May, Pinot’s Palette is giving pet parents the opportunity to honor their furry, feathered, or finned friends in a very special way. Pinot’s Palette, the premier paint and sip studio, is hosting Project Pet —entire classes dedicated to helping people paint a portrait of their pet.

Research published in the Los Angeles Times shows that just looking at our pets causes our brains to release oxytocin, which makes the human brain feel joy and decreases stress hormones.

Barbara Streisand recently cloned her dogs, so she could continue looking at them. If people can’t afford that $50k price tag, cloning a pet on canvas at Pinot’s Palette is the next best thing!

Chris & Jill Shaw from Pinot’s Palette Gilbert explain to FOX 10 Phoenix, “People love painting their pets! Our pets nowadays are our family. Why not immortalize them in a painting?”

Project Pet — How it Works

Participants pre-register and submit a photo of their pet.
Pinot’s Palette transfers the photo onto a 16”x20” canvas.
The night of the class, the talented artists walk pet painters through the steps to bring the portrait of their pet to life — from customizing the right colors to capturing the gleam in their eyes to accentuating every strand of fluff.

It’s a fun way to honor your pet and the joy they bring to your life. Many people also find Project Pet to be a deeply meaningful way to memorialize a furry family member who has crossed the rainbow bridge. Many Pinot’s Palette studios even donate a portion of the profits to help local animal shelters.

Clamp a binder clip on top of the smartphone to hold treats.
Don’t use the flash. Natural light works best.
Find a contrasting background. Light pet — dark background. Dark pet — light background. Move distracting objects out of the way.
Get close. Stand four feet away or closer.
Be happy and relaxed. Your mood will rub off on your pet.
