Pinot’s Palette opened for business on May 8, 2009. Our first location was a cozy, local studio in the Montrose neighborhood of Houston, Texas. Being a new concept run by three first-time entrepreneurs, we started small. We hoped to fill enough seats to host a wine and painting class three nights a week.
Needless to say, we filled a few more seats than that. In 2010, we opened our second studio location in Houston. The three of us quit our corporate careers to open it. It was a big leap, but we got our footing as multi-unit business owners. A lot of other firsts followed. Our first Painting It Forward community fundraiser, which we loved so much we built it into our business model. Our first private paint party, and then our first 100-person paint party.
A pair of local entrepreneurs approached us about another first: They wanted to franchise our business. In December 2010, the first Pinot’s Palette franchise location opened in Katy, Texas. Not long after, we opened the first paint and sip with an in-studio bar.
Today, we have over 80 locations from coast to coast and internationally. The paint and sip concept has taken off since those early days. People love connecting with others over art (and wine!). Pinot’s Palette makes sure that the experience is always polished, magical, and memorable.
Together with our studio guests, we’ve created over one million paintings. And while we haven’t counted the corks, we’ve all enjoyed plenty of wine and friends along the way. We love being the go-to spot to relax, unwind and let loose. From date nights to bachelorette parties to team building, our paint parties are a unique way to celebrate all of life’s special moments… even if the occasion is just a Friday.
